Jilani Energy DEF is a high-purity urea solution essential for Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems in modern diesel engines. It is composed of 32.5% urea and 67.5% deionized water.

When injected into the exhaust stream, DEF reacts with harmful nitrogen oxides (NOx) emitted during combustion. Within the SCR catalyst, the urea in DEF decomposes into ammonia and carbon dioxide. Ammonia, a natural compound, then reacts with NOx in the presence of the SCR catalyst, converting it into harmless nitrogen and water vapor. This chemical reaction significantly reduces NOx emissions, contributing to cleaner air quality.
